"Great action. Great insight into the most extreme, extreme sport!
Shot on a budget by the feel of it, doesnt tarnish the enjoyment though!"

"This is a brilliant introduction to parkour, which I didn't know much about before. It's interesting to watch, and exciting too! I would never be brave enough, but it's amazing what those guys can do. They've even got stuff from some of the world's greatest experts. Recommend this highly."

Parkour.net Closed

Parkour.net has been taken offline. It appears that the owner of the site, Jerome Lebret was contacted by David Belle and David's brother, Jean-François Belle requesting that anything refering to David Belle, his family, the Yamakasi, or the word 'Parkour' must be removed else action would be taken.

Some speculate that David is trying to take ownership of the word 'Parkour' and how it is used, making threats of legal action to enforce his wishes; however the general concensus is that he wouldnt have a leg to stand on, as the word has long been in common use and was never protected by a trademark.

It does seem somewhat counter-productive to request the closure the one website seen to be promoting the practice of 'pure parkour' more than any other. Again, speculation here is that this is because parkour.net also supported 'l'art du deplacement', a variation of parkour developed by the Yamakasi. This suggestion seems to be supported by the recent opening of the Yamakasi Academy in Belle's home town of Lisses.

No doubt parkour.net will release a statement to clarify the situation sometime soon.
